Setting Up Low Tech Planted Tank

Equipment Needed

1) Crystal Glass tank
(There are pretty much brands out there, well i chose a brandless type of Crystal Glass Tank Cost me about $50 for a 45cm X 30cm x 29cm).
(i bought an addition nano tank for $20 30cm X 17cm X 23cm)

2) Substrate
I Chose Ada Amazonia AquaSoil 9Litre $36, one of the best substrate that is highly recommended.
-I'm Using 1L ANS Planta Soil x2($5? per litre) + mixed a cup of amazonia on my nano tank ($5? per litre)
I think Gex Soil is also recommended by many users.

3) Filter
Using SunSun Canister 302B Filter around $40(Bought on Ebay/Aliexpress)

4)Filter Media
1)ANS BACTERIA HOUSE
2)2-3 Piece of Coral Stone(this will Increase Ph, Buffer/maintain)
3)Filter Wool
4)Filter Sponge came with SunSun Canister

5) Lightings
Up-Aqua Z Series 45Cm
8000k-10000k Colour Temperature (You may wanna always check on this as plants grew well at around 6500k to 10000k) (At Around 6700k Grew best), but at 8000k you get the best view of planted tanks) (Higher and you may feel its abit purple)(Blue LED does not help in any form of plants)
Model: PRO-LED-Z-15 (around $60 at seaview)

6)Rocks
I picked somewhere =)
Im Sure you can buy it off at some LFS

7) White Sands
$3 per litre(Wash It Thoroughly)

8)Low Tech Plants
Go Google and you should be able to find lots.
For myself, i used
-Eleocharis sp. 'Mini' aka Japan Mini Hairgrass

-Micranthemum 'Monte Carlo'


Setting Up 


 Find The Possible Positioning for best results. (Using Styrofoam to stack it higher).



 Using Brush to scape the soil..


 Moist the soil first before any planting.
Left is M.C, right is HairGrass

 Using container slowly fill the tank with water, so that the water stays clear, as well as newly planted plants stays in soil.








Day 21
-Added cleaning crews
3 x Otos 
10 x Fire Red Shrimp
-Added A Cave
-Added 1 Tropical Hornwort
 



1 Month
Notice the growth of the plants?

Tropical Hornwort grew fast and well, while M.C is slowly crawling to carpet.
Hairgrass is still slow in their growth, however able to see few strands of hairgrass runners.
